Who are CAST?

CAST, The Campaign for A Sustainable Toddington are your residents’ actions group. The group was formed as a result of the public meeting held on the 27th April 2007.

CAST has been launched to protect our village and it’s encircling green belt

The group has been created in response to the major threat to the green belt around the village from a proposal to build a new 20,000 seat stadium for Luton Town Football Club near Junction 12 of the M1.

CAST are active within our village. You can always find a member of CAST at main village events. Click Here to view photo’s of our latest events.

CAST aims to:

  • Ensure Toddington develops sustainably, with development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
  • Protect the green belt surrounding Toddington opposing any erosion of the green belt which would lead to a fundamental, irreversible change in the character of our village.
  • Encourage the development of a new stadium for Luton Town Football Club, in a suitable urban location within the Borough of Luton.
  • Raise awareness of the significant detrimental impact on the entire local area of a commercial development of the size proposed at Junction 12

Please remember that if you have specific concerns or comments or are unable to attend the meetings you are able to post comments directly to this web site HERE.

The deadline for objections to this planning application has now passed. To view the 54 page document sent by CAST please click here.
