This Web Site has a comments page. It is designed to receive and display the thoughts of our Residents on the monstrous proposal of warehousing and football ground at junction 12. Please give us your views by clicking HERE .

However it is now time to register your objections for real, as we only have until the 21st April to do this.

What Can I Do To Help?

The developer has lodged the application for the development of the Football Stadium and Related Warehousing at Junction 12 in Toddington. The height of the stadium is estimated to be 25 meters high and with a vast area of warehousing it threatens to double the size of Toddington. This threatens to be the start of an attempt to merge our village with Harlington.

The application is available for viewing online by clicking HERE.

The letter Writing Campaign (Letters dropped off at the doors of the residents of Toddington to complete and send to the Council) has been a great success.

There have been over 1,500 individual letter objections signed out of the High street shops and signed into South Beds District Council. This does not include letters posted directly to the council. This is a massive response and will have an major impact on the planner’s decision.

Thanks needs to go to: David Griffiths, John Miles and Betty Harper, for the organisation of the Letter Campaign; those who activated the letter deliverers; the letter deliverers (street helpers); the shops that acted as letter collection points (Punch the Opticians, Nisa, and the Hardware store); the letter collectors; and the residents who wrote their objections and stood up for the cause

CAST needs money to fight this development to pay for planning expertise and lawyers. Please visit our DONATE page to donate with a credit or debit card. Alternatively if you prefer to set up a standing order for £5-£20 per month, please visit the CASH (Campaign for a sustainable Harlington) website. http://www.cash-harlington.org.uk/mandate.doc

What else can you do?

  1. Display the “No Development at Junction 12 Posters” in your window. These are available from the village hall.
  2. If you live along Leighton Rd, Harlington Road, Station Rd, Luton Road or Dunstable Road and have a visible front garden please contact us to put up an A3 Board with a campaign poster on it.

CAST need people with planning and legal expertise. If you are able to help us in these areas then please contact us as soon as possible

CAST really appreciate all of our residents who are so generously offering their time and help to our cause.

If you would like to be kept informed on latest developments, then please contact CAST by email to be added to our mailing list.

You can never have enough help, and for that reason CAST are still looking those who can help us to fundraise and help coordinate events. Even if you can only afford an hour a month, your help would be greatly appreciated. Again Email CAST if you can help.

The developer, club and landowner have the best lawyers and planning expertise available. CAST are volunteers. We need professional planning expertise and lawyers to guide the work that we are foing at the moment and to represent us at the planning stage. This is expensive and requires funding. A similar opposition group at Junction 10 has over £10,000 available to argue their case at junction 10. We have been advised that it will be too late to leave fundraiging until the planning stage. So we have set a target of £14,000 and are asking for donations now.

If you are able to help at all please visit our DONATION page.

Similarly if you represent a local business and would be interested in advertising on this web site please CONTACT US.
